The Dark Knight [HD]

The Dark Knight is a 2008 American superhero film directed and co-written by Christopher Nolan. Based on the DC Comics character Batman, the film is part of Nolan's Batman film series and a sequel to 2005's Batman Begins. Christian Bale reprises the lead role. The film follows Bruce Wayne/Batman (Bale), District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Assistant D.A. Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal), and Police Commissioner James Gordon (Gary Oldman) and their struggles and journey in combating the new threat of the Joker (Heath Ledger). The Joker's identity is left a mystery in the film, while Two-Face's transformation from heroic district attorney to disfigured killer is presented entirely. Nolan's inspiration for the film was the Joker's comic book debut in 1940, and the 1996 series The Long Halloween, which retold Two-Face's origin. The Dark Knight was filmed primarily in Chicago, as well as in several other locations in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong. Nolan used an IMAX camera to film some sequences, including the Joker's first appearance in the film. On January 22, 2008, after he had completed filming The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger died of a sleeping pill overdose, leading to intense attention from the press and moviegoing public. Warner Bros. had created a viral marketing campaign for The Dark Knight, developing promotional websites and trailers highlighting screen shots of Ledger as the Joker, but after Ledger's death, the studio refocused its promotional campaign.[2][3] The film was released on July 16, 2008 in Australia, on July 18, 2008 in North America, and on July 24, 2008 in the United Kingdom. Before its box office debut in North America, record numbers of advance tickets were sold for The Dark Knight. It was greeted with positive reviews upon release,[4] and became only the second film to earn more than $500 million at the United States box office, setting numerous other records in the process. Following this immense critical acclaim and commercial success, The Dark Knight has proven to be very successful in the awards season, garnering several nominations and wins as the best film of 2008 and most notably for Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker. http://thedarkknight.warnerbros.com/dvdsite/ [not my video, i just really like it]

Batman (1989 film) Joker Movie Scene - He Stole My Balloons (High Quality)

Batman is a 1989 superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Tim Burton directed the film, which stars Michael Keaton as Batman, with Jack Nicholson, Kim Basinger and Robert Wuhl. The film, in which Batman deals with the rise of a powerful villain known as "the Joker", is the first installment of Warner Bros.' Batman film series. With Burton's hiring as director, Steve Englehart and Julie Hickson wrote film treatments before Sam Hamm wrote the first screenplay. Batman was not greenlighted until the success of Burton's Beetlejuice (1988). The role of Batman was considered for numerous A-list actors, while Nicholson accepted the role of the Joker under strict conditions that dictated a high salary, a portion of the box office profits and his shooting schedule. Filming took place at Pinewood Studios from October 1988 to January 1989. The budget escalated from $30 million to $48 million, while the 1988 Writers Guild of America strike forced Hamm to drop out. Uncredited rewrites were performed by Warren Skaaren, Charles McKeown and Jonathan Gems. Batman was a critical and financial success, earning over $400 million in box office totals. The film received numerous nominations at the 62nd Academy Awards, 47th Golden Globe Awards and Saturn Awards. It has also inspired Batman: The Animated Series, a series of films for Warner Bros. and the modern perception of the superhero film genre. As a child, Bruce Wayne saw his parents killed by a young criminal. He grows up, avenging their death against the criminals in Gotham City. He takes a disguise as Batman, while keeping his public image as a billionaire heir to Wayne Enterprises. Years later, Gotham is under control by crime boss Carl Grissom. Despite the best efforts of newly-elected district attorney Harvey Dent and police commissioner James Gordon, the police department remains corrupted. Reporter Alexander Knox and photo-journalist Vicki Vale begin investigating the rumors of a shadowy vigilante figure dressed as a bat, who has been terrifying criminals throughout the city. Vale and Knox attend a benefit at the mansion of billionaire Bruce Wayne, who is taken by Vicki's charms. Knox, however, appears somewhat jealous of the chemistry between Bruce and Vicki. That same night, Grissom's second in command, Jack Napier, is sent to raid Axis Chemicals factory. After the police receive a tip-off and arrive to arrest him, Napier realizes he's been set-up by his boss, angered by his affair with Grissom's mistress. In the midst of the shoot-out, Batman arrives and takes out Napier's henchmen and attempts to capture Napier himself. In a bizarre accident caused by his own ricocheting bullet, deflected by Batman's metal-reinforced gauntlet, Napier's face is ripped open. Reeling from the pain, he topples over a platform rail but manages to grab a lower rail with one hand. Batman momentarily clutches Napier's free hand, but the grip is soon broken, and he falls into a large vat containing an unknown chemical solution. Shortly thereafter, he emerges from an adjacent reservoir, his hair and skin permanently discolored. Following a botched surgical attempt to repair his face, Napier is left with a permanent rictus, which will become his most distinguishing feature. He becomes "the Joker". After killing Grissom, the Joker takes over his empire and holds the city at his mercy by chemically altering everyday hygiene products so that those using a certain combination of products die. Batman attempts to track down the Joker, who has become romantically interested in Vicki. It is revealed that Napier, as a young criminal, killed Bruce's parents. The Joker holds a parade through Gotham, luring its citizens on to its streets by dispensing money, intending to kill them with a lethal gas. Batman foils his plan, but the Joker kidnaps Vicki and takes her to the top of a cathedral. After a fight with Batman, the Joker falls to his death from the bell tower. At the film's end, Commissioner Gordon unveils the Bat-Signal along with a note from Batman read by Harvey Dent, promising to defend Gotham whenever crime strikes again.

The Dark Knight - Darkest of Nights

What more can be said about this film? Not much.... but I still had to say something about it. In my own way of course. The Dark Knight was one of the few films that lived up to expectations and even surpassed it. This is my tribute to Christopher Nolan's amazing retelling of the Batman mythos done to Hanz Zimmer and James Newton Howard's score. It is also a tribute to the great performance of the late Heath Ledger as The Joker. Here is my tribute that hopefully does this film some justice.

See Spot Run (Theatrical Trailer)

Gordon Smith, (David Arquette) is an offbeat mailman who has never met a dog he couldn't handle. When he offers to baby-sit James (Angus T.Jones), the young son of his beautiful neighbor Stephanie (Leslie Bibb), he's hoping she'll return his romantic interest. A hard working single mom, Stephanie thinks Gordon is just an overgrown kid himself but circumstances force her to leave James with him, temporarily, while she is away on business. Meanwhile in another part of town, an FBI agent named Murdoch, (Michael Clarke Duncan) is trying desperately to find his runaway canine partner, Agent Eleven (Bob) who has escaped from protective custody. Thanks to the super dog's drug detecting abilities, he has incurred the wrath of local mobster kingpin Sonny Talia (Paul Sorvino) who has put out a contract on the four footed fed. Luckily, Agent Eleven is a lot faster and smarter than Talia's two inept henchmen Gino (Joe Viterelli) and Arliss (Steven R. Schirripa), so they aren't having much luck. They lose the trail completely when the dog seeks refuge in Gordon's mail truck, where he is promptly adopted by James, who names him "Spot." Gordon is not exactly a dog lover, especially after having to use his ingenuity to fight off the mailman-hating mutts on his harrowing Bleeker St. postal route. Armed with a variety of ingenuous devices, Gordon enters the combat zone and emerges victorious, if not exactly unscathed. Back at the post office, his colleague and good buddy Benny (Anthony Anderson) is always ready to commiserate and offer advice to Gordon about his job and his love life. Meanwhile, Stephanie is having her own set of unbelievable adventures trying to get back home, thanks to a freak snowstorm. Spot appears to be nothing but trouble so Gordon tries to persuade Angus to give him up. Instead he finds both the kid and the pooch beginning to grow on him. When the mobsters catch up to them at the local pet store, all heck breaks lose. As the fur, fish and feathers start to fly, Spot finally gets to show his true colors. By the time Stephanie returns home to find her son and Gordon remarkably transformed, Agent Murdoch has shown up to reclaim his dog. The final decision is up to Spot but the lives he has touched will never be the same. MPAA Rated PG for crude humor, language and comic violence. Produced in association with Village Roadshow Pictures. Released by Warner Bros. Pictures, an TimeWarner company.
