Like many 1930s Warner Bros. films, Black Fury drew its inspiration from the headlines. The story is adapted from a true-life incident from 1929, wherein a striking Pennsylvania coal miner was beaten to death by three company detectives; this served as the focus for Henry R. Irving's stage play Bohunk as well as Judge M. A. Musmanno's story Jan Volkanik, both of which were woven into Black Fury's screenplay. Using a Polish accent so thick one can cut it with scissors, Paul Muni plays an illiterate miner, happy in his job and his company-town surroundings until his girl Karen Morley deserts him for policeman William Gargan. A disconsolate, drunken Muni stumbles into a labor meeting, where his loud, unthinking outbursts win him the leadership of the new miner's union. When the company locks out the strikers and brings in scabs, the angry miners hold the thick-headed Muni responsible. Fellow miner John Qualen, Muni's best friend, is then killed by a gang of rampaging hired goons. Vowing to "feex" the situation, Muni kidnaps head goon Barton MacLaine and takes him into the bowels of the mine with several sticks of dynamite in tow. Muni threatens to blow himself, MacLaine, and the mine to smithereens unless management comes to terms with the union. Thanks to overwhelming public support, the owners capitulate, and Muni is the hero of the hour. Though it seemed uncompromising in 1935, Black Fury obviously pulls its punches when seen today; for example, it is suggested that the mine owners are guiltless regarding violence against the strikers, laying blame on the hired detectives, who are shown to be in the employ of a crook who plays both sides against the other. Even allowing for this, Black Fury is one of the most powerful of Warners' "social conscience" films. Although the Academy gave Muni a Best Supporting Actor nod for this film, the AMPAS database indicates that it wasn't an "official nomination" - he was a write-in candidate, and came in second. The Jonas Family(Big Rob is family, too! :D) had just left the hospital at which Claire & Reesey were patients, & Hailey was a nurse. *The white 2009 suburban, with tinted windows, pulled away from the hospital* *Nick looked back at the hospital, and then down at his lap* Nicholas-She gave me that look... *He frowned, fidgeting with his tie, talking to whoever cared to listen to him* *Joe looked over at his baby brother; Joe was sitting a space away, to the left of Nick, Kevin was in the seat in front of Nick, talking to his Mom on the phone, so really, Nick was talking to Joe.* Joseph-Nick...you can't blame yourself. Nick-I can too... Reese is going through a tough time, *Nick found it hard to see through his eyes, the tears would come, and for once, he would let someone see. He looked over at his brother, Joe stared back, seeing the tears* and I'm not there. I don't care if i barely know her, she deserves to have a friend, you know? Joe- I know, Nick.*He closed his eyes. Joe nodded & looked down, thinking of how much Claire is honestly hiding from him, the emotions he finally realized that she never showed, he finally understood why; she was scared. [if that makes any sense] Nick's elbows were on his knees, his hands draping over, and Kevin saw tears fall, to the dark area. Noticing, that for once, Nick wasn't hiding anything* [Denise-Hello? Kevin?! Honey, are you still there? Where are you boys? Are you almost here?] Kevin-Hi. Mom. I'm still here. We're driving downtown. Yes, we're almost there. But Mom, I'm going to go...I'll see you soon, i love you. bye. *And before Denise could respond, she heard the click of Kevin's phone shutting. And she knew that something was up, and she also knew from the long pause, that it had nothing to do with Kevin, but everything to do with Nick & Joe*

Joe's P.O.V. I woke up. We were still driving. We were moving from New Jersey to Ohio. Wow, the Buckeye State, INTERESTING, not. my name's Joseph Adam Jonas. I prefer Joe. The ball of curly hair in front of me in my little bro Nick. In the middle was my even younger brother Frankie, going on about how he saw Bigfoot when we crossed the Pennsylvania border. Last but not least, Kevin. The oldest. And our Mom and Dad, Denise and Paul Kevin Jonas I. Kevin's the second. That's my family. I leaned my head against a suitcase and fell back asleep. Sarah's P.O.V. "Ready?" I stood next to my friends Hannah and Sophia. "As I'll ever be." Sophia had her eyes glued to the building. Hannah was the first to walk into the building. We hurried up to keep up. We got to our lockers and got our books ready. "Why are you guys so nervous? We're not freshman anymore." Hannah was always like this. Ready to take anything head on. "You can't be this relaxed." Sophia slammed her locker shut and leaned. "Something wicked this way comes." Hannah said without looking out of her locker. Here comes the Queen bee and her little two person army. All rise. They seemed to be walking in slow motion, their steps sinkronized. "Could her shorts get any smaller?" I remarked. She had a pink tank top on and mini white demin shorts. Her designed sunglasses resting on the top of her head completed the outfit. "Hey guys." It was Felicity Coleman. She knew the dirt on everything and everyone around. "We're getting three new students here. there is a sophmore, junior and a senior. Bye." And she was off to tell the rest of the student body. "How does she know these things?" "I don't know." Hannah shut her locker. The belle rang and we went to homeroom. We walked in and Amy was surrounded by other populars. I caught a phrase of her speech. "Puhlease, like one of them would date you. I bet they wish their girlfriend was as hot as me." So they're three boys. Mrs. Newman walked. "Alright class take your seats."

I don't have spots for this series right now but when I do I'll make sure to let you guys know and I might have a contest who knows! ----------------- I was asleep in my room when I heard footsteps going back and forth in the hall. I groaned and pulled the covers over me and found the perfect comfortable spot. I was drifting back to sleep when I suddenly felt some one wrap me up in my blanket and throw me over their shoulders. I kicked and screamed not knowing what was going on. I was totally freaking out. I repeatedly heard an "ow" coming from the perpetrator and they finally set me down on the couch. I was trying to find my way out of my blanket when they pulled it off of me and I was instantly doused in silly spray. Their ammo ran out and I looked up and saw them. They were laughing so hard they fell to the floor. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! They yelled through their laughter. I was not a happy camper. I pulled the silly string off and kicked each of them on my way up to my room. I slammed the door and sat on the floor in front of my mirror pulling the silly string out of my hair. There was a knock on the door. "come on JoJo it was just a joke. We're sorry." That was Kevin. The oldest of the three. It was kind of hard to forgive him when he was laughing through his apology. That boy is a total sweetheart tho and I knew he wasn't the mastermind behind all this. He was the big brother I never had. I call him my diary because I always spill out my feelings to him when I'm having a bad day. He literally is the best listener in the world. "yeah JC its your birthday. Its like an unwritten rule to attack you with silly string" that's Joe. The mastermind behind all this I'm sure. He was the sunshine in my life. He ALWAYS knew how to cheer me up when I need it. But it was WAAAY to early to find the humor in this prank. Me and him have a different relationship. We tease each other A LOT and people find it as us flirting. I find it as innocent fun. "JoJo come on open the door. Please. We're really sorry" That pleading voice is the voice of my best friend Nicholas. He knows me better than I know myself and can read me no matter how hard I try to lie to him. "come on. Just open up please" He is probably the only person who has the power to make me change my mind. And that takes a lot being that I'm probably the most hard headed stubborn person you will ever encounter in your life. I sighed and opened the door with a not so happy attitude and small traces of silly string still in my hair. Nick was standing there with a smile that I can never resist and arms wide open with his two brothers standing behind him for support Me being the stubborn person that I am only crossed my arms and looked at them with a death glare. "my arms are open and you know I think hugs are overrated" he said with that charm of his. But I stayed strong. "we said we were sorry" Joe added with his famous poppy dog face. "pweeeeese" Kevin added with his gorgeous hazel eyes. I felt myself giving in. a slight smirk began to grow on my face but I caught it quickly. "oh. Oh. Boys what that a smirk I saw?" Joe asked pointing to my face. "why yes Joseph I do believe it was." Kevin added chuckling. "come on Jocelyn...holding a grudge isn't healthy." Nick just HAD to say my full name. I gave in and slowly walked into nicks arms in defeat. He laughed and gave me a big huge hug. "happy birthday JoJo" he said softly in my ear. "thanks woobie" oh and his nickname that a different story for another time. "yay! She's not mad!" Joe said pushing through his brothers. "happy birthday JC" "thanks Joe" "now you go get ready so we can take you out to your annual birthday breakfast with the rest of the family" Kevin said giving me his hug. He has the best hugs by the way. "fine. Are Ma and Pa going?" "of course! Why wouldn't they?" nick said scooting me into my room while Joe dug through my closet to find me an outfit. "I dunno." I shrugged my shoulders I said as I walked up to Joe witnessing the mess he was making in my well organized closet. "ok we'll go off to our rooms and let you get ready. Hurry" Joe said pushing an awful combination of a shirt and pants into my arms. My birthday breakfasts were always interesting. But Joe has been "teasing" me about it being my SWEET 16 and it being BIG. I know that boy has something else up his sleeve and I'm more scared than excited to see what was going to happen. ------------------------ So there's the preview. Tell me what you guys think?
