PBR Wi-Fi Match 262: Vs. Alejandro
Random Wi-Fi Doubles matches @ (1) Courtyard Colosseum, and (2) Sunset Colosseum.
"Jirachi's Serene Grace"
I ended up fighting the same person twice. Not in row though; the fight that took place between these two will be uploaded as Match 263.
Alejandro has a pretty decent team, but with the addition of Palkia and Giratina, they would prove rather tough to take down.
First match @ Courtyard Colosseum:
He leads with Starmie and Zapdos, while I have Crobat and Wailord out. I put Zapdos to sleep, as it could easily take out both Crobat and Wailord. Crobat was able to set up Rain Dance before going down to Starmie's Ice Beam, while Wailord finished off Zapdos with an Ice Beam of its own.
Palkia came in next. Starmie was dealt with from a Grass Knot from my Ludicolo. I saw that Spacial Rend on Wailord coming, so I switched in Jirachi to take the hit. Some may be wondering why Thunder is on Jirachi, even with a -Sp. Atk nature. Because of Jirachi's Serene Grace ability, Thunder has a 60% chance of paralyzing the foe. This, coupled with Zen Headbutt, which has a 40% chance of making the target flinch, can prove to be rather troublesome. But, Jirachi needs Rain support, which is why it's on this team.
Ludicolo hit Palkia hard with Grass Knot, but went down to Spacial Rend. But Jirachi was able to paralyze Palkia with Thunder afterward. Once Wailord came back in, it finished off both Palkia and Giratina with Ice Beams.
Second match @ Sunset Colosseum:
I bet he was glad to run into me again. I actually hate running into the same people again myself, especially if you have no counter for their team. Anyway, at the start, Wailord's Water Spout doesn't KO Gengar or Starmie (obviously), but then it eats a Thunderbolt, then gets put to sleep. I suppose my opponent was surprised by Wailord's performance last time.
Starmie got OHKO'd by Ludicolo's Grass Knot again, and I switched out Wailord for Jirachi, as Wailord wasn't useful with a low percentage of health and sleep status. Ludicolo was able to set up Rain Dance, and afterward KO'd Gengar with Ice Beam before going down to Spacial Rend (again).
After Ludicolo went down, Kingdra came in and finished off Palkia with Draco Meteor. That left Giratina to deal with. I managed to paralyze with Jirachi's Thunder, and from there, I was planning on flinching it to death with Waterfall/Zen Headbutt. Even with Waterfall and Zen Headbutt's flinch rates, combined with its paralyzed status, Giratina still managed to finish off Kingdra. However, its luck ran out, and Jirachi just used Zen Headbutt to take it out. That final part of the battle had shades of the end of Match 234...
Hope you enjoyed the battles.

In Nowotny's recollection
Major Walter "Nowi" Nowotny (7 December 1920 8 November 1944) was an Austrian-born German fighter ace of World War II. He is credited with 258 aerial victories claimed in 442 combat missions. 255 victories were achieved on the Eastern front and three while flying one of the first jet fighters the Messerschmitt Me 262 in Defense of the Reich.[1]
Nowotny joined the Luftwaffe in 1939 and completed his fighter pilot training in 1941 and was posted to Jagdgeschwader 54 "Grünherz" (JG 54) on the Eastern front. Nowotny was the first pilot to achieve 250 aerial victories — 194 victories in 1943 alone — earning him the coveted Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub, Schwertern und Brillianten (Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds) on 19 October 1943 and was ordered to cease operational flying.
Reinstated to front line service in September 1944, Nowotny was tasked to test and establish tactics for the Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter. He would be credited with three further victories before being killed in a crash after he was shot down by United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) fighters on 8 November 1944. After his death, the first operational jet fighter wing, Jagdgeschwader 7 "Nowotny", would be named in his honor.
