item--7-- Some Sea Gypsies in Phuket have passed proper diving courses. Ten people from local Sea Gypsies community in Phuket received diving certificates from Phuket Governor Preecha Rungjan after they completed Dive Master courses. The program was carried out to have the Sea Gypsy population learn to dive accurately and safely which should lead to appropriate wages. The authorities hope that they can work as dive masters to complement the local tourism industry and foster relationships between businesses and local communities. The training courses were supported by the Hilfswerk Austria, the Agriculture and Cooperative Bank and the Marine and Coastal Resources Conservation centre, the Thailand Diving Association ( TDA) and the provincial Office of Tourism, Sports and Recreation. item-8--- Phuket prepares to host the Kings Cup football tournament during January 21-23. The Football Association of Thailand has chosen Phuket as a venue for the Kings Cup Soccer tournament. The competition is scheduled to take place during January 21-23 with a Thai national team due to kick off the match with Lebanon. Phuket Governor Preecha Rungjan called a meeting with related agencies in preparation for the matches. The governor affirms Phukets readiness to host the games at Surakul Stadium, with suitable accommodation and transportation. Four national teams from Thailand, Lebanon, Denmark and North Korea will take part in the tournament. Instructing responsible officials to make sure that the preparation and the hosting of the tournament runs smoothly, the Governor of Phuket hopes to use the King's Cup to help boost tourist confidence in the nations tourism. item--9--- NO VIDEO ON WEB A foreigner died in Phuket after falling off stairs while police still investigate the actual cause. Kathu Police was notified of a foreigners death at around 3 am on January 3rd. Rushing to the scene at OnUma mansion on Phra Baramee Road in Patong with Kusoldham Charity Foundation, police found a body of a man on the second floor with bruises on his body, legs and arm. The man was identified as 60 year old Hilmar Josef. The mans friend Siriwan told police that she heard the man cry for help in the middle of the night, rushed out and found him fallen down the stairs. She took him upstairs and the man then was still conscious and asked to see a doctor. She then called Patong Hospital. While waiting for a paramedic, the man passed away. Police will further investigate the cause of the mans death before making any conclusion if it was an accident or murder. item--10--- An elephant at Kinaree House in Phuket gave birth to a baby male elephant and named him Peemai or New Year. An 12 year old female elephant Mink gave birth to a baby male elephant at 8.30 am on Sunday morning at Kinnaree elephant trekking camp. The 80 kilogram baby elephant is healthy, but still cannot drink milk from his mother due to weak legs. The cute scene drew vast attention from Thais and foreign tourists who visited the Kinnaree House compound, in Chalong, south of the island. The Managing Director of the Kinnaree elephant camp said the mother was pregnant for two years under close care and observation of the staff. He said this is the first time in 5 years in which the trekking camp has a new born baby elephant adding the population to 23. The operator named the new born baby as Plai Pee Mai meaning New Year and expects that the baby elephant will attract visitors to the trekking. He said the visitors recently declined from 400 to 300 per day due to the recession and political situation. Our planet is home to millions of species of animal and plants with their own habitat, and each plays a unique role in the perfect design of nature. Communities that are isolated in remotes areas in the poorest regions of the planet are often the keepers of very special landraces. The worldwide prosecution on the cannabis plant generates the need to go hunting for the real landraces that are left in the most remote corners of the planet. These strains, isolated for decades and sometimes for centuries, costantly inbreeding, are at the origin of all the thousands of variations that we know today in the cannabis industry. Our Lady of All Nations On 31 May 2002 Bishop Jozef Marianus Punt of Haarlem, having concluded a period of investigation, declared the apparitions accorded Ida Peerdeman of Amsterdam, Holland, in which the Blessed Virgin Mary asked to be known as Our Lady of All Nations, to be "of a supernatural origin". Decree of 31 May 2002 (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) This decree ends a 45 year period of investigation and decision, as reflected in the following history: 7 May 1956 - Bishop of Haarlem finds no evidence of the supernatural nature of the apparitions, and prohibits public veneration. 2 March 1957 - Bishop of Haarlem confirms this decision with consent of the Holy Office (13 March 1957). 24 May 1972 - Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, responding to a letter of 29 March from the Bishop, re-affirms its decision. 27 June 1974 - CDF affirms its earlier decision, after a deeper investigation, inviting the faithful to discontinue all forms propaganda with regard to these alleged apparitions and revelations. 31 May 1996 - The then Bishop of Haarlem, Henry Bomers, published a Notification clarifying the distinction between the title, image and prayer, on one hand, and the messages on the other. The title, image and prayer had been approved for private veneration since the 1950s (according to this decree), and he was now granting the privilege of public veneration, as well. The belief in the messages had been prohibited, but now was permitted according to one's own conscience, the Church being unable to rule definitively "at the moment". As the decree notes, he consulted with "official authorities", without specifying who those authorities were. 3 December 1997 - The Bishop writes Letter (HB-97-403) commending the "Action of The Lady of All Nations" and the work of Fr. Paul Maria Sigl. 3 May 2002 - In a Letter of 3 May 2002, Raphael Soffner of the public affairs office of the diocese of Haarlem affirmed to EWTN that the public veneration of Our Lady of All Nations by title, image and prayer, is permitted to Catholics by decision of the Bishop of Haarlem, "with the consent of the Prefect of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome". Catholics may make "a personal judgment according to their conscience" regarding the messages and apparition. 31 May 2002 - Bishop Punt declares the apparitions to be of supernatural origin. The Expression "Who Once Was Mary" In the approved prayer, the Blessed Virgin is referred to as Our Lady of All Nations "who once was Mary". It is explained by the promoters of the devotion in the following manner: This refers to the fact that Mary is no longer just Mary but rather The Lady, The Woman at the foot of the Cross. These words refer to her Eternal Motherhood over all of us, for she is Mother Whom Jesus gave to us from the Cross with the words: Woman behold thy Son! I might add that the Motherhood of Mary is eternal in the sense that it was foreseen by God, along with the Incarnation of the Word, from all eternity. Similarly, the Church speaks of Mary as the Mother of God, not because she herself is eternal or Mother of the divine nature, but because He of whom she is Mother in the order of human nature is God, the Eternal Word.
