Kindle: Amazon's Wireless Reading Device 2
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FI73MA?ie=UTF8&tag=best-youtube-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000FI73MA
Introducing Kindleâ„¢
Three years ago, we set out to design and build an entirely new class of device—a convenient, portable reading device with the ability to wirelessly download books, blogs, magazines, and newspapers. The result is Amazon Kindle.
We designed Kindle to provide an exceptional reading experience. Thanks to electronic paper, a revolutionary new display technology, reading Kindles screen is as sharp and natural as reading ink on paper—and nothing like the strain and glare of a computer screen. Kindle is also easy on the fingertips. It never becomes hot and is designed for ambidextrous use so both "lefties" and "righties" can read comfortably at any angle for long periods of time.
We wanted Kindle to be completely mobile and simple to use for everyone, so we made it wireless. No PC and no syncing needed. Using the same 3G network as advanced cell phones, we deliver your content using our own wireless delivery system, Amazon Whispernet. Unlike WiFi, youll never need to locate a hotspot. There are no confusing service plans, yearly contracts, or monthly wireless bills—we take care of the hassles so you can just read.
With Whispernet, you can be almost anywhere, think of a book, and get it in one minute. Similarly, your content automatically comes to you. Newspaper subscriptions are delivered wirelessly each morning. Most magazines arrive before they hit newsstands. Havent read the book for tomorrow nights book club? Get it in a minute. Finished your book in the airport? Download the sequel while you board the plane. Whether youre in the mood for something serious or hilarious, lighthearted or studious, Kindle delivers your spontaneous reading choices on demand.
And because we know you can't judge a book by its cover, Kindle lets you download and read the beginning of books for free. This way, you can try it out—if you like it, simply buy and download with 1-Click, right from your Kindle, and continue reading. Want to try a newspaper as well? All newspaper subscriptions start with a risk-free two-week trial.
Kindles paperback size and expandable memory let you travel light with your library. With the freedom to download what you want, when you want, we hope youll never again find yourself stuck without a great read.
We're very proud to introduce Amazon Kindle and we hope you like it as much as we do.

Harry Beck's Underground Map - Design icon.
Henry (Harry) Beck worked for the Underground. During a low period of work they laid him off. During this period he came up with the design of an underground map looking like an electrical map. When he returned to work the map was taken up as a trial and immediately became popular. The underground continues to use this map with only a tiny reference to his part in the design. I once saw the original design in the British Museum. It was the size of a paperback book. I think it has moved with the books to the British Library in Euston Road London but I have never seen it there.

Big Brother is tracking you with GPS!
iPhone?? NO THANKS
An example is CDMA digital cellular. Each base station has a GPS timing receiver to synchronize its spreading codes with other base stations to facilitate inter-cell hand off and support hybrid GPS/CDMA positioning of mobiles for emergency calls (JUST EMERGENCY CALLS?! YEAH, RIGHT) and other applications.
GPS functionality has now started to move into mobile phones en masse. The first handsets with integrated GPS were launched already in the late 1990s, and were available for broader consumer availability on networks such as those run by Nextel, Sprint and Verizon in 2002 in response to US FCC mandates for handset positioning. (MANDATED BY BIG BROTHER!)

Cant believe youve never heard of Big Brother when you work for the right arm of his propaganda machine. BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING
Big Brother today
Since the publication of Nineteen Eighty-Four, the phrase "Big Brother" has entered general usage, to describe any overly-inquisitive or overly-controlling authority figure or attempts by government to increase surveillance. The magazine Book ranked Big Brother #59 on its 100 Best Characters in Fiction Since 1900 list.
In October 2006, the book The 101 Most Influential People Who Never Lived listed Big Brother as #2. Wizard Magazine rated him the 75th greatest villain of all time.
The worldwide reality television show, Big Brother, is based on the concept of people always being watched and being under constant surveillance from this novel.
In a play on the Big Brother name, some privacy advocates use the phrase Little Brother to refer to the increasing threats to privacy stemming not from institutional surveillance, but from individuals snooping on each other with the help of new technology such as camera phones, search engines, and social web sites.
Walter Cronkite, in his Preface to the paperback edition of 1984 published by The New American Library, said Orwell wrote his novel as an essay on "power, how it is acquired and maintained, how those who seek it or seek to keep it tend to sacrifice anything and everything in its name." (p. 2) That statement gives us the key: the real purpose of control is power; power over others.
Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past,' - Page 309 of 1984
Appears in 332 books from 1948-2008!
